The collection consists of dermoplastic preparations, skeletal preparations, and fluid preparations. It is formed from the old collection fund of the District Museum in Most, old school preparations removed from natural history cabinets, and collections by museum staff and its supporters (Z. Bárta, J. Bažant, H. Tichý, P. Tyrner, V. Bejček, M. Šťovíček, B. Franěk, J. Šárik, J. Antonov, and others).

It includes 755 specimens, of which 244 are mammals, 296 are birds, 85 are reptiles, 55 are amphibians, 45 are fish, and 30 are invertebrates.

The collection material is partially exhibited in the OMM exhibition and partially stored in the biology depository.
