The virtual tour of our museum will take you to a very attractive exhibition titled "Gypsum - an extraordinarily ordinary mineral," prepared for you by geologist Pavel Dvořák. Gypsum is one of the most abundant minerals, but most deposits do not provide its attractive specimens. This exhibition will attempt to show that gypsum can also be interesting and diverse. In the first part, we present the highest quality finds made between 1980 and 2020 in the Most Basin in northern Bohemia. In the second part of the exhibition, there are specimens of gypsum from six continents. For the first time, polished gypsum from the most famous Czech locality Strkovice near Žatec is on display. The exhibition will last until August 2, 2020.
