Exhibit of the Month 8 / 2019
TOOTHED MELILOT (Melilotus dentatus)
Toothed Melilot is a biennial plant of saline soils that can grow up to 1 m tall, found in meadows, along paths, in ditches, and at the edges of reeds.
The edges of its leaves are notably finely toothed, from which its name is derived.
In the Czech Republic, it is endangered, but it still grows relatively commonly in the saline areas of southern Most.
You can take a close look at the Toothed Melilot at the reception of the Regional Museum and Gallery in Most (free of charge).
