The Regional Museum and Gallery in Most invites you to the opening of the educational exhibition marking the 90th anniversary of the so-called Great Most Strike, which became part of the ideology of one party for many years, even though history tells a different story. The exhibition is presented in the form of a comic and historical facts.
The exhibition is dedicated to the events from March to April 1932, now referred to as the so-called Great Most Strike. It is still considered the largest strike of the Great Depression on the European continent and the only strike of this period in which both sides reached a reconciliation. Visitors to the exhibition will not only learn about the events of those days but also their historical background. An important aspect is the perspective reflecting the complex social and economic situation of that time. The exhibition focuses on educational activities, which is reflected in the breadth and expertise of the text, which includes a comic dedicated to this historical event.
Part of the exhibition is a virtual reality program that will transport visitors to the Most region of the 1930s. It will showcase the difficulties of working in a brown coal mine and present a poor mining household.
In the showcases, period items and literature from the collections of the Regional Museum and Gallery in Most and from the museum library's fund are displayed.
The exhibition was created with the support of the statutory city of Most.
Orders for educational programs for schools can be made via email: kubelkova.oomgm.cz
