The Regional Museum and Gallery in Most invites you to the opening of the exhibition of painter Tibor Červeňák. His work is represented in several private collections, in public institutions and galleries around the world as well as in the Czech Republic, and he has a number of exhibitions behind him in galleries and museums in many European cities and in New York.

Tibor Červeňák was born in 1977 in Hranice, Moravia. From childhood, he attended the studio of medallist and sculptor Mikoláš Rutkovský, and his mentors included artist and educator Zdeněk Smejkal and painter Jaroslav Štěpán. He trained as a painter - lacquerer and briefly studied remotely in the field of painter - restorer in Valašské Meziříčí. Despite all the challenges he faced since childhood, he held on to his desire to paint, and alongside securing a living for himself and his family, he pursued his dream. Since the late 1990s, he began exhibiting under the pseudonym Valerio Ivtodagas and was a member of the Union of Olomouc Artists. In 2004, he moved to Belfast in the UK, where he took on various jobs. There, he also established a five-year collaboration with gallerist Michael Flanagan.

In 2009, he began exhibiting and selling his paintings under his own name to private collections. In the same year, Tibor Červeňák's paintings appeared in the film Paint (directed by Ryan Tohill). In 2011, his activity peaked with a solo exhibition in New York, which was opened by singer and instrumentalist Iva Bittová. From 2009 to 2012, alongside his artistic activities, he practiced kickboxing, which also influenced his experimental work under the name Boxing Painting. Just as in Belfast, he also worked as a taxi driver in Cardiff, where he moved in 2012. From 2012 to 2015, he studied at the Bath School of Art and Design at Bath Spa University. He continued his studies in London at Chelsea College of Arts, where he obtained a master's degree in 2016. He returned to Czech exhibition halls and galleries in 2019 and currently lives and creates in Prague.

Tibor Červeňák's paintings are represented in private collections, public institutions, and galleries around the world as well as in the Czech Republic. For example, works from his final exhibition of his bachelor's degree were purchased by Bath Spa University. He also exhibited at the Royal West of England Academy in the English city of Bristol, where he won the main prize for the best painting created with mixed techniques for his painting MY Monet.

He has exhibited his paintings in galleries not only in European cities (Prague, Vienna, Stockholm, Helsinki, Paris, Venice, Berlin, London, Bristol, Belfast) but also in New York. In 2019, he returned to his hometown of Hranice with a major exhibition Horses and Women at the Museum Gallery Synagogue. He continues to exhibit in Czech exhibition halls and galleries in collaboration with ZaZa Gallery.

In the gallery space, we present an exhibition of paintings by Tibor Červeňák. A native of Hranice in Moravia, he lived for nearly twenty years in Great Britain, where he graduated from the prestigious art school in London, Chelsea College of Arts. He currently lives and creates in Prague. His work is represented in several private collections, in public institutions and galleries around the world as well as in the Czech Republic, and he has a number of exhibitions behind him in galleries and museums in many European cities and in New York.

The opening will take place on Thursday, February 17 at 5 PM. The exhibition will last until 8. 5. 2022.
