We cordially invite you to the exhibition CONTEMPORARY CZECH MOSAIC . The exhibition takes place in the exhibition spaces of the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Most.

Open TUE-SUN 9 AM - 5 PM, admission 20 CZK, reduced 5 CZK.

The exhibition will last from 11. 1. to 28. 4. 2019

The exhibition, prepared by academic sculptor and restorer Magdalena Kracík Štorkánová, shows that mosaic is not (only) "socialist art" and that artworks created using the mosaic technique are a significant part of our visual culture.

The author of the exhibition is the founder of the Art and Craft Mosaic association, which advocates for the popularization and promotion of mosaic art through exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and publications, as well as caring for mosaic heritage and the original creations of individual members.

As a result, the exhibition features works by more than thirty artists from the period since the 1980s to the present. The exhibition presents contemporary Czech mosaic in the breadth of its possibilities, in various material executions, in architecture or objects, in utilitarian items as well as free autonomous works.
