Bird Festival 2020

We cordially invite you to the autumn Bird Festival, which will take place on October 4, 2020. The meeting point for participants is at the bus stop Most - Čepirohy ZK at 8:30 AM. The guide will be Jaroslav Bažant from the Regional Museum and Gallery in Most. The duration of the walk will be approximately 2 hours. Please bring binoculars, a snack, and a good mood. :-).

The Bird Festival is a traditional campaign of BirdLife International, whose Czech partner is the Czech Ornithological Society. In the Most region, the festival is organized by zoologist Jaroslav Bažant from the Regional Museum and Gallery in Most. The main goal of the event is to popularize birds among the general public. It takes place in early October, during the autumn bird migration. During the walk, observers record the number of species and individual birds seen. These results are processed by the organizers on the same day and sent to the European coordinator, who publishes them. The data collected enhances our knowledge of bird migration, and the event is perceived by participants from the public as a pleasant educational nature walk.
