The Natural History Department of the Regional Museum and Gallery in Most, p. o. has prepared an exhibition of bird nests and cradles. The world of birds has attracted human curiosity since time immemorial. Their amazing ability to fly, interesting shapes, colorful plumage… Not to mention their remarkable life behaviors, where we most admire their parental care. This is closely linked to the construction and use of nests. Each bird species has its typical nest, although some constructions of related taxa may resemble each other.
The exhibition features nests of mostly common bird species, which were relatively easy to collect. We can see the intricate construction of the wren, the softly lined bowl of the goldfinch, the clay creation of the swallow, and many others.
The curator of the exhibition is ornithologist Jaroslav Bažant.
