Aragonite

The active quarry Chraberce is located approximately 4 kilometers north of Loun. The mined raw material is the volcanic rock nepheline basalt. At that time, a fault with a thickness of 1.5 meters and a length of 15 meters was encountered during mining. The fault was filled with breccia, composed of angular and slightly rounded fragments of basalt.
The cavities of the breccia were filled with abundant needle-like crystals of aragonite of snow-white color.

The exhibited specimen is a find from 2013
