The Applied Arts subcollection consists of two parts - ceramics and glass.

Ceramics includes collections of utilitarian tableware and kitchenware used in both urban and rural environments, liturgical utensils (aspersorium), and decorative objects. The collection represents all common types of ceramic materials - porous (earthenware, faience, majolica) and vitrified (stoneware, porcelain) and methods of their processing.

Glass includes collections of hollow glass, lighting fixtures, mirrors, and stained glass. It documents various methods of glass processing (manual, automatic), shaping (blowing, casting, pressing, drawing), and finishing (grinding, engraving, etching, painting).

Both parts illustrate the historical development of working technologies and finishing techniques using local raw materials (ceramic clays, sands).

The collection represents the production of the Czech lands, particularly the Most region, northwestern Bohemia, Saxony, and other countries in Europe, with a small percentage imported from Asia. The collection items date from the 17th to the 20th century, with the 18th and 19th centuries being the most represented. The subcollection contains approximately 1775 items of ceramics and 525 items of glass. This subcollection also includes plaster casts and tiled stoves.
